In honor of Veterans Day, The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics – MMI Division, in conjunction with Community Radiology Associates (CRA), will offer free screenings for qualified veterans with orthopaedic complaints on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. The free screenings are a way to thank veterans for their service.
The clinic will offer veterans the opportunity to discuss orthopaedic concerns with a board-certified surgeon free of charge. Orthopaedic surgeons Dr. Frank Nisenfeld, Dr. Mark Chilton and Dr. Rishi Gupta will see veterans with general orthopaedic complaints, while Podiatrist and Foot & Ankle surgeon, Dr. Damian Roussel, will examine those vets with specific foot/ankle issues. CRA will perform any necessary x-rays on-site free of charge.
The second year for this event, it is the brainchild of a group of doctors who have always considered giving back to the community to be of the utmost importance. Founding physician, Dr. Nisenfeld made it a cornerstone of the practice since day one. He and original partner, Dr. Chilton, have always held that it is important to support the community that supports their practice.
With this Veterans Day event they are reaching out to those in the community who have stepped up to the call of military service. Dr. Chilton’s reasons for participating in this event also have a more personal significance. When asked about his motivation for this new community outreach he commented that, “Both of my brothers spent 28 years each in the Air Force, I want to honor them by donating my time.” Dr. Nisenfeld’s motivation also comes from personal experience. He is a veteran of the Army Medical Corps, did his orthopaedic surgical residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington DC and served as chief orthopaedic surgeon at Kimbrough Army Hospital at Fort Meade, Maryland.
Registration is required for this event and participants must bring a Veterans Identification Card or a copy of official discharge papers to be eligible for the free screenings. There is a limited number of appointments available so interested veterans should visit http://mmidocs.com/veterans-day-2017 to register online.
