Understanding your health

The first step is to determine what is causing your symptoms. We carefully review your blood work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests and spend time listening to you, getting an understanding of what your symptoms are and when they occur.  We look at your overall health; taking into consideration medications, health history, activity level and lifestyle. 

 Our rheumatologists also utilize diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound.  Imaging joints and soft tissue enables us to detect subtle changes in bones, tissues and tendons that x-rays often cannot detect.

Our next step is to determine what all this information means.  We go through an extensive process of elimination to pinpoint the reason for your condition.

Once we have reached a diagnosis, we explain your condition and discuss the impact various treatments will have on your illness. Early detection and treatment often lead to better outcomes and improved quality of life.  Treatments may include:
