Mark D. Chilton, MD
Dr. Chilton is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has developed a special interest in the surgical and nonsurgical treatments of spine disorders as well as total joint replacement surgeries. He has published numerous orthopaedics papers including articles on nonoperative treatment of low back injury in athletes. Dr. Chilton has worked as a consultant for the West Virginia Worker’s Compensation Commission, the Occupational Health Program at Frederick Memorial Hospital, and Health Care Excellence, Inc. He received his MD from Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the renowned Rothman Institute.
Dr. Chilton is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is also one of their examiners. He is a member of the North American Spine society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Jefferson Orthopaedic society, and the Maryland Orthopaedic Association, and is President of the Maryland Society for Crippled Children and Adults. Dr. Chilton is a Team Physician for the Frederick Keys (the Carolina League Affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles), and Thomas Johnson High School.
